External Resource Management Interface Error Handling

Note: Your Staff Manager configuration may not include this optional application. To add this application to your configuration, contact your Clinical Consultant or Client Advocate.

Staff Manager can receive a number of errors while processing data using the interface. The following list describes how Staff Manager handles these errors.

• General Errors: These errors are not caused by actually processing data in the application. These errors are caused when interacting with applications outside of Staff Manager.
  • Unable to communicate with web service: Staff Manager Administrative user should be notified.
• Generating a Job Requisition
  • Staff Manager-generated
    • No Job Requisition information sent back from External Resource Management: Error is sent to configured users with the specific reason.
    • Job Requisition held up in External Resource Management during processing: Error is sent from External Resource Management to configured users with the specific reason.
  • ERM-generated
    • Data configuration incorrect: Error is sent back to External Resource Management.
    • No Opportunity information sent back from Staff Manager: Error is handled by External Resource Management
  • Pending Candidate (External Resource Management to Staff Manager)
    • Opportunity already closed or assigned: Updates is disregarded.
• Job Requisition Cancellation
  • Canceled by Staff Manager
    • Job Requisition already assigned already assigned when the cancellation was received by External Resource Management
      • Process cancellation of both assignment and Job Requisition
      • If the cancellation will incur penalties in External Resource Management, that information should be supplied to you by the External Resource Management.
  • Canceled by External Resource Management
    • Opportunity already assigned in Staff Manager: No update needed.
• Filled Job Requisition
  • Filled by Staff Manager
    • Already assigned in External Resource Management: Assignment and Job Requisition should be canceled in External Resource Management.
  • Filled by External Resource Management
    • Job already filled in Staff Manager: Staff Manager sends back an error message stating that the Opportunity Need has been filled.
    • Employee is a Facility employee: If configured, Staff Manager sends back an error to cancel the assignment in External Resource Management.
• Assignment Cancellation
  • No Matching Data: This error should never occur in either application.
  • Canceled by Staff Manager
    • Cancellation received too late: External Resource Management should handle this by notifying you that the assignment could not be canceled and that the two applications may be out of sync.
  • Canceled by External Resource Management
    • Staff Manager has already removed the employee from the shift: No update needed.
• Candidate Replacement (External Resource Management to Staff Manager)
